Pure oxygen produced with a PSA type gas generator is often the preferred feed gas for ozone generation in smaller systems. To achieve good efficiency in the generation process the oxygen source must be extremely dry and pure to prevent damage to the ozone generator or its components.
The addition of low % amounts of nitrogen, (1-4%) allows to produce the highest ozone concentrations at the best efficiency. In PSA gas feed systems, the nitrogen is a natural part of the gas mix.
The purity of feed oxygen as well as the nitrogen concentration is preferably measured with very reliable oxygen sensors and analyzers such as the instruments supplied from Analytical Industries.
